Greetings, Adventurers!

What started as an office joke about a giant turkey with laser eyes turned into an actual world boss when one of our AI designers made Turkulon on the side. Here is the origin story for Aeternum’s most fearsome turkey.

Around the year 1600, a Farmer needed 100 turkeys to feed the settlement for the upcoming holiday feast. With his deadline fast approaching, the Farmer found an Ancient device that flowed with the power of Azoth. Wondering what would happen if he put his prized turkey in there...

This device had unintended side effects, and the beast became far larger than one could imagine — and escaped!

As rumors circled of a giant, monstrous bird and pamphlets started hitting the town boards, the Farmer (not one to spoil good publicity) promptly announced that he had created Turkulon the Peaceful Giant.

The holiday feast ensued, but Turkulon was not happy with the deaths of his feathered friends. The turkeys of Aeternum have been hunted for centuries. But during the fall seasons, the hunted become the hunters as Turkulon seeks vengeance on all settlers for its fallen flock!

The Drumstick of Death

Nearly one year ago, adventurers from all over Aeternum rose to the challenge of Turkulon, the massive and deadly creature of terror. With the monster defeated, peace returned to the villages and the common people were able to breathe easier, knowing they would not be crushed under the deadly claws of the giant bird. For a time, at least.

Rumors have begun to swirl of a shadowy silhouette in the distance, of massive feathers found along the trails and roads of the wilds. People swear they hear gobbling echoes in the night, waking them up from their sleep, unsure if it was real or a nightmare. It seems that the fearful fowl, Turkulon, has emerged from wherever it nested over the past year to once again wreak havoc across the plains of Aeternum.

Once again, the hero adventurers will need to muster their strength and face Turkulon head on. As in days past, they will need to band together to challenge the creature, or risk getting pecked to death one at a time as the feathered horror stomps its way across the island. They will need to become a beacon of hope for the fearful again, and bring back proof that the mighty bird has fallen.

To do so, the adventurers can gather up one of the creature’s massive legs as a trophy of their deeds. The strength of these limbs, colloquially known as the Drumstick of Death, is such that it can be used as a mighty flail in battle. Not only will such a weapon bring hope to the masses of Aeternum, but will show enemies that the adventurer wielding such a weapon had faced a beast like Turkulon and emerged the victor.

So gather your strength, adventurers! Face Turkulon once again, protect the island and all those within it, and prove your heroism with the Drumstick of Death!

The Grand Gobbler

The legend of Turkulon is well-known across Aeternum, but not all of the citizens of the island have the same opinion about it. While many have heard the legends and accounts of the massive bird, others believe it to be nothing more than a story akin to a bedtime tale for children. To them, the idea of a massively oversized turkey is ridiculous, and they laugh off the warnings about its rampages.

However, there is at least one person who takes the legend of Turkulon very seriously, blaming the creature for the death of his brother. This man, Trateles, has been unashamed to openly discuss Turkulon wherever he goes as he searches for the beast across Aeternum. While some have given Trateles support on his crusade, others make fun of him, believing he is chasing a silly legend. These villagers have given him the nickname of Turkules, mocking him for his single-minded crusade and what they think is an inflated sense of heroism.

For his part, Trateles has adopted the Turkules moniker, believing that when he finally stops the beast, he will earn the comparison to the hero of legend. In fact, he believes that he has forged the weapon that can finally defeat his foe once and for all, a mighty hammer that he calls the Grand Gobbler. Now that he is ready to confront the giant bird, Turkules seeks the help of Aeternum’s best to seek out the mighty creature and work with him to put down Turkulon once and for all.
