Greetings, Adventurers!
All of that time at the tavern with Grace O’Malley helped your arrival go down a little easier, but now it’s time for action. Learn what it means to survive in World of Aeternum episode 2 and then team up with Urda to make it happen.
The ultimate survivor, Urda is one of a handful of people who have survived on Aeternum for more than two thousand years without having their soul wear out or give in to madness. Urda's accomplished this by being brutally honest and pragmatic. When a situation looks risky, she walks away. She lives outside society, foraging, farming, and trading to keep herself comfortable. For her, the cities of Aeternum are at risk. People are untrustworthy.
While your skills evolve, so will the Eternal Isle, including its very nature. The creatures of the Angry Earth are pure expressions of nature infused with the power of zoth. They are wise and docile creatures, but once provoked, become fearsome and powerful guardians of the natural world. Check out this week’s episodes of Discovering Aeternum for a glimpse into how you’ll survive these growing threats.
Survive
Urda can tell that you’re hungry to get involved. Grab a weapon and be prepared for anything because you never know what lurks in the depths of Aeternum.
The Angry Earth
The Angry Earth are nature's response to the growing threat of corruption. However, dark rituals have been discovered that have been able warp even the most powerful of the Angry Earth into a creature of corruption.
The Elysian Wilds
Here’s a sneak peek into how the Angry Earth continue to influence Aeternum.
First Light has fallen. Once a welcoming place for newcomers to Aeternum, the lands have been overtaken by the fury of the Angry Earth. No one is certain what has become of the people and villages that once populated the area, and a deadly bramble has kept all but the most intrepid from attempting to find out. This abundance of earthly powers has awakened the mighty Beast Lords, a new possible adversary facing the people of Aeternum. Explore the overgrown structures of this bioluminescent landscape and battle the ferocious beasts that have taken refuge in the verdant, unsettled terrain of the Elysian Wilds.Beast Lord Lore
Beneath the mountain of Vigrid, the tribes of the Beast Lords have dug tirelessly to create their new kingdom. Supported by the terraforming magic of Artemis and the Ennead, it took little time for the massive caverns to be carved out from the mountain. Deep within massive chambers expanded forth, interconnected by Ancient channels and ruins of the previously submerged Saircor ruins. Lush alien flora flood into its depths, brightly illuminating the chambers within their new home.
When the Mammoth Lord first fled back into the depths of the Savage Divide it seemed hope was on the horizon. Hoping to quell his rage, the Gorilla Lord followed his friend into the maw of the cavern, deep into the depths of the false promise that would be their demise. Neither has yet to return. Both alpha tribe members have begun to feel the Beast Lord souls manifest within them. Terrible omens for the lost Lords and Aeternum.
Mahantaram’s otherworldly nature reacted violently with the supernatural power of Aeternum. Such planar instability would have alarmed Artemis in a former life, but her Ancient knowledge and hatred of humankind inspired her to make use of this anomaly. Energy drains from the mammoth Beast Lord into bursts of destructive elemental magic. Artemis has confined this force of destruction to the Savage Divide Expedition. For now... Look forward to encountering the Angry Earth and Beast Lords when New World: Aeternum comes to Steam (PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 15. Don’t forget to also check out the next episode of Aeternum Survival Guide series on X. Thanks for your support! We’ll see you in Aeternum.
